Holly Wagner

General Session Speaker

Holly’s life is full and busy… just the way she likes it! Like most women, she wears many hats - wife, mom, pastor, teacher, author and cancer survivor. She grew up in Venezuela, Indonesia and England and eventually moved to Los Angeles where she worked as an actress in films and television for over 10 years.

Today she and her husband Philip are lead pastors of Oasis Church– a growing, relevant, multi-cultural, multi-generational church they started in 1984 in Los Angeles. She and Philip have taught many relationship seminars around the world and are committed to healthy marriages, especially their own! They love spending time with their two young adult children, Jordan and Paris.

Holly is passionate about seeing women become who God has designed them to become, and to see every generation of woman extend a helping hand to the generation that is younger. Through the women’s ministry of Oasis, GodChicks, Holly seeks to blow the lid off the boxes that women have sometimes put themselves in and encourages women to be the amazing, world-changing champions they were made to be. She hosts an annual conference, She Rises, which is currently held at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and draws women from around the country.

She has written several books, using her humorous yet challenging style to encourage readers. Her newest is Find Your Brave, an honest look about navigating storms and has been an encouragement to the thousands who have read it. Her books include: GodChicks, examining with humor and honesty the many facets of being a woman of God, Daily Steps for GodChicks, a 90-day devotional which was written during her treatment of breast cancer, WarriorChicks, which uses Holly’s own life experiences to deliver witty, yet poignant principles for facing any crisis life throws at you, Love Works, which she wrote with her husband Philip, offers practical help for dating and building a marriage.

Holly has been featured on many TV shows; Fox Family’s Parenting Show, Dick Clark’s The Other Half, Berman and Berman, TBN’s Praise the Lord and JCTV, the 700 Club, and recently The View. Holly speaks at churches and conferences all over the world, and loves living out the adventure God has given her!

Willie Nolte

General Session Speaker

Willie joined Transformation Ministries as Mission Lead/CEO in March 2011. He has been a Pastor for some 35 years and that is his passion. He served as Sr. Pastor in Fresno, Ca. for 16 years; Santa Cruz, Ca for 8 years; and as Youth/Associate in Castro Valley, Ca.; Burlingame, Ca.; and the Chicago area. Willie received his BA from Judson University in Elgin, Ill; MA in Biblical Studies/OT from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Ill.; MDiv from ABSW in Berkeley, CA.; and DMin from Western Seminary, Portland. Willie married Joy McBain in 1979; they have four grown children and 4 grandchildren. He has enjoyed fishing; golfing on rare occasions; and tinkering around with his two old Volvos. Why Transformation Ministries? Simple reason really; Willie knows what it is like to receive support, training, encouragement and unwavering commitment to help a pastor grow and be effective because he received it as a pastor/leader. He sees his role in TM as being “on the other side” of that equation now. A healthy effective church is the hope of the world and that won’t happen without healthy effective leaders.

Day 1

When Not Taking a Break is Deadly

Speaker: Jeremy McGarity

The most important thing a leader can do is to stay encouraged. The demands of ministry have a way of sucking a leader’s passion dry. In this workshop, you will learn the latest research on pastoral burnout rates, and how to reverse this alarming trend.

Jeremy McGarity is the founding and lead pastor of Seven San Diego Church, Lakeside, CA, which launched in 2008. He is currently completing a doctorate on church growth and multiplication. He is thrilled to report that, after 8 years of setting up and tearing down every Sunday, Seven recently found a permanent home and are in the process of constructing and renovating the property. Jeremy has been married to Janie for 19 years; together they have three sons.

Rethinking Discipleship

Speaker: Bill Staffieri

Developing our people to become authentic followers of Jesus is our mission, and we can’t get sidetracked. Often discipleship becomes one of our programs instead of our very purpose. This seminar is designed to help you create three practical tools for your unique context: a discipleship profile, a unique discipleship pathway and seasonal scorecards. Each tool you create is designed to help you work with the Spirit to help your people grow in their love of God, one another and the world.

Bill Staffieri is the Senior Pastor of Beachpoint Church, with campuses in Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach, CA. For the last 18 years, he has been an adjunct professor at Biola University in the Christian Ministries Department. He now also serves on the Transformation Ministries Church Health Advocate Team (CHAT), and is leading the North Orange County Pastors Mentor Group.

Women on the Ministry Front Lines

Speaker: Lisa Toney

You have a call. Your heart burns with passion. You want to make a difference in and through the local church. But, in addition to the demands of ministry, you have to wrestle with people’s questions, funny looks and at times antagonism.

Lisa Toney is a courageous and bold woman of God. She lives life to the fullest and empowers all those she encounters to dream big with God.

The City of Angels is where she hangs her hat. Her dream super power is a flying minivan so that she could instantly transport her family over L.A. traffic.

Lisa brings a message of hope, humor, and authentic faith. Lisa is a teaching and executive pastor at Purpose Church in California and also a Voice for Women of Faith. She loves to speak about and share the brilliance and beauty of Scripture. Lisa has a degree in Communications from Taylor University and an M.Div degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. She loves to speak at conferences, retreats, colleges, and camps. One brave man dared to marry her and they have four little people in their home that leave her excited for quiet and clean things some day. Until that day, she relishes those sweet, sloppy, and LOUD moments.

A little bit of coffee, dark chocolate, and a whole lot of Jesus get her through each day. Follow her at LisaToney.com and on Facebook and Instagram.

Life Changing Women’s Ministries: Women Are _______

Speaker: Katie Quesada (Fellowship Monrovia)

Society has a lot of things to say about what women are, many of which are hurtful and disappointing. God has spoken a different narrative to women, and what He says is far more beautiful than what the world says! This workshop will teach you how to help women reclaim what God has spoken over them by confidently completing the phrase, “ Women Are _____”. God says that Women Are Brave, Women Are Beautiful, Women Are Healers, Women Are Called, and more. Let’s help the women in our communities walk in the peace of knowing that our good, good Father is for us!

Katie Quesada is a speaker and storyteller, who regularly speaks at a wide variety of conferences, churches, and universities. She has served with students, families, women's ministries, small groups and leadership development for 10 years. Katie received her degree from Vanguard University. She and her husband Danny are currently living in a renovated 180 square foot RV with their sweet daughter Gracie June in Monrovia, CA.

Using Social Media Effectively

Speaker: Morgan Nottingham (Hillside Community Church, Rancho Cucamonga)

Jesus said, “Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations.” What does that mean for a generation who can be anywhere in the world within minutes from the palm of their hand? Through a device within our fingertips, or computer on our laps, we can receive or share any message with anyone in the world. Why would the Church NOT want to be a part of that?

A passionate advocate for recognizing the importance a church’s digital presence, Morgan works alongside her team to bring the relationship of community from the church walls to the realities of people’s every day experience. Hillside Community Church continues to strengthen their digital presence, not by creating an image or telling people who they want to be, but recognizing “who we are” and inviting others in. In the realm of social media and digital advertising, platforms are always changing. Morgan and the Hillside Communications team consistently seek out new advances in marketing strategies and technological development to modernize and make relevant their communication strategies while retaining a conscious balance, sensitive to avoid any invasiveness, and allow the gospel to be easily available and integrated into one’s everyday life.

Some tools this team has developed include automated email funnels, specified communication for one’s interest, based off engagement reporting (digital content versus receipt of all information the church produces), multiple ministry weekly email communication strategies with a 25% open rate, digital reach of over 20,000 weekly through Facebook, Instagram, Google, website and Yelp. To support this vision, they’ve created volunteer teams in photography, videography, content creation and live reporting through social media hosts.

DELEGATES
SECTION 1. QUALIFICATIONS

A. In determining the qualifications of Delegates to each Transformation Ministries annual conference, the Ministry acknowledges that the baptism of believers by emersion on their confession of faith in Jesus Christ is an historic and continuing practice among its Covenanting Churches, and further recognizes the autonomy of each Covenanting Church.

B. In accordance with these acknowledgments, a Delegate shall be a person who is a member of Covenanting Church and who has been duly elected as a Delegate to such Transformation Ministries annual conference pursuant to these Bylaws. In addition, members of the Board of Directors shall be Delegates.

SECTION 2. ELECTION AND REGISTRATION

A. Election: Each Covenanting Church may elect from its membership:
1. five (5) Delegates;
2. one (1) additional Delegate for every one hundred (100) members of such church in excess of the first one hundred (100) members;
3. one (1) additional Delegate if such church’s per capita giving to Transformation Ministries in the calendar year preceding the Ministry’s annual conference equaled $30 or more; and,
4. In addition to the foregoing, the Senior Pastor of any Covenanting Church may serve as a Delegate.

If any question shall arise with regard to the number of Delegates to which a Covenanting Church is entitled, the determination of the Mission Lead shall be conclusive with respect thereto.

B. Registration: The names of Delegates from each Covenanting Church shall be registered with the Mission Lead fifteen (15) days prior to the convening of an annual or special meeting.

SECTION 3. DETERMINATION AND RIGHTS OF DELEGATES
Except as expressly provided in or authorized by the Articles of Incorporation or Bylaws of this corporation, all Delegates shall have the same rights, privileges, restrictions and conditions. -9-

SECTION 4. TRANSFORMATION MINISTRIES ANNUAL CONFERENCE
A. Time and Place of Conferences.
Delegates shall meet annually at such time and place as shall be fixed by action of the Board of Directors. Such time and place shall be set forth in the notice of the Conference, which shall be published, not less than ninety (90) days prior to the Conference, in the official publication of the Ministry, distributed to Covenanting Churches.
B. Action by Delegates.
1. Quorum: At each Transformation Ministries annual conference, one-third (1/3) of the Delegates registered with the Mission Lead prior to convening the Delegates for the first order of business of the annual conference, present in person, shall constitute a quorum; provided that at least one Delegate is registered from each of at least one-tenth (1/10) of the Covenanting Churches. When a quorum is once present to organize an annual conference, it shall not be broken by the subsequent absence of any Delegates from the conference. If at any annual conference there shall be no quorum present, the Delegates present shall have power to adjourn the conference until a quorum is present and no notice of any such adjourned conference need be given.

2. Vote: Except as otherwise provided by applicable law or these Bylaws, a majority of the votes cast by the Delegates present, as provided herein, shall determine the vote of the Delegates. Voting by proxy is not permitted. Each Delegate entitled to vote may cast one (1) vote on each matter submitted to a vote of the Delegates.

C. Chair of the Annual Conference.
The President or, in the President’s absence or inability, the Vice President or, in the absence of both, a person chosen by the conference shall preside at all annual conferences.

D. List of Delegates.
The Mission Lead shall cause to be prepared by the close of the final session of every annual conference a list of names and addresses of the Delegates registered from each Covenanting Church. Such list shall be designated for historical purposes as the official list of the Delegates for that annual conference. Frequently asked questions

Do I have to register and pay to attend the conference?

Yes. TMC attendance requires paid registration. Your church will not receive a Conference Contribution Request letter. Please register according to the category that best fits your church budget (Individual or Group Rate).

What are Group Rates?

Group Rates are the amounts we formerly requested as the TM church’s conference contribution. The rates are based on the same standard ( i.e., average church attendance). The option of choosing between individual rates and group rates allows a church to bring a group of any size and register at the rate that suits their budget.

Will meals be provided or available for purchase?

Yes, both!

– Breakfast will be provided for those who have registered for Thursday morning’s Business Meeting.
– Coffee and morning refreshments will be provided both days.
– You can buy a boxed lunch, both days, onsite from our caterers, or you may want to try a local restaurant.
– Thursday evening will feature complimentary pre-dinner appetizers, dinner, followed by after-hours entertainment.

Please remember to indicate whether you will be attending our dinner and /or breakfast when you register.

How do I register to attend Workshops?

You do not need to register for workshops. Workshops may be attended on a first-come, first-served basis. Each workshop will run twice during the conference. Check your conference program guide for times and locations of all workshops.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

For regular check-in/walk-in registration, your ID is not required. You may be asked to provide ID at the childcare center, if you are making use of the childcare facilities. (See more childcare information in the related section on the event site.)

Is my registration transferable?

Yes! If you can’t attend the conference, please send someone else in your place. Please remind your replacement to notify the registration/check-in staff to help things run as smoothly as possible.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, you can access your registration and make any changes as needed.

Do I have to bring a printed ticket to the event?

It’s not necessary, but helpful.

What is the refund policy?

All conference registration fees are fully refundable, up to and including October 5, 2018.

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

For general conference information, please call us at 800.299.3448, or email Elenna Poppin.
For information about Exhibitors or Sponsors, please call 626-408-3883

What are my transport options to the event? What kind of parking can I expect?

Parking at the conference host church is limited, so we strongly encourage you to carpool with others, or to take the TM shuttle bus from the hotel to the host church. The TM shuttle bus will make round trips to and from the hotel about every 20 minutes all day long, throughout the duration of the conference. Thank you for your cooperation.

Alternative Parking

Due to limited parking at the event’s host church, we encourage attendees to carpool as much as possible.

If the host church parking lot becomes full, on-site signage will direct you to a Walmart parking lot only 2 miles from the church.
There will be shuttle buses running throughout the conference to shuttle you back and forth between Walmart and the church.

Park in the NW corner of the Walmart parking lot (just off McFadden Ave), and watch for a shuttle bus with a “Hillside” logo.

The map below also shows you where the Walmart parking lot is compared to the host church.

Thank you for your cooperation!
