Is God Calling You to Plant a Church?

Transformation Ministries is deeply committed to starting new churches.

Jesus said,  “I will build my church, and the gates of Hell will not overcome it” (Matt. 16:18).  This promise from Jesus of an expanding church foresees the planting of multiplying numbers of new churches. Starting new churches continues to be the most effective way of reaching people for Christ.

TM is not only committed to starting new churches, but to providing a church planter and a planting team with the support necessary for the new church to thrive. With this in mind, we provide the following support systems for new churches:

  • Spiritual Vitality
  • Funding
  • Inviting
  • Vision Alignment
  • Training
  • Coaching
  • Caring
  • Creativity
  • Partnering

First Steps:

The first two steps TM utilizes for exploring a potential partnership are Connection Events and the Discovery Center.Connection Events are regional gatherings for church planters. They consist of a short meeting, sharing a meal together and also attending a professional sporting event such as: baseball, football, hockey etc. We have Connection events in southern California, northern California, the Northwest, the Midwest, Dallas TX, Charlotte NC and Florida.

The other opportunity for connecting is the Discovery Center – our assessment process. The whole focus is on helping leaders discover their next step in ministry. This is really a great chance for you to closely observe how we work and discover if we’re a ministry with whom you would want to partner with.

If you would like registration information for the Discovery Center, information regarding the Connection event schedule, or have any further questions, please contact our Church Planting and Pastor Support Specialist at 626-408-3883.

JD Pearring’s New Book!

Preaching the Other Way

How to Develop a Teaching Team in Your Church

If you talk with JD Pearring very long you will catch his passion to ‘spot high level leaders and set them up for success!’  JD always considers ‘who else and how’ when it comes to leading a church. His conviction to invest into people and maximize the effectiveness of not only a single leader but the entire church ministry is clearly on display in this book. Why wouldn’t we think about multiplying our efforts when it comes to effectively communicating God’s word in our preaching by working together in teams?  This is classic JD and I hope many more of us will get on board with making the most of our opportunity and responsibility to be effective communicators of the Gospel.  —Willie Nolte, Mission Lead for Transformation Ministries

Preaching The Other Way is an absolute must have for any preacher, speaker, or primary communicator.  It’s a humbling and inspirational reminder that no one person can be it all, and do it all.  If you are a preacher of God’s word give yourself, your family, and your church a monumental investment and read this book!”  —Albert Tate, Lead Pastor, Fellowship Monrovia

JD has been my chaplain, pastor, a great friend and mentor. He is truly a gifted man of God and great warrior for Jesus Christ in furthering His kingdom. My view may not be a popular one, but it’s honest and from my heart. In my view and experience, the church in the west (Europe, North America, Canada) is largely a spectator sport. Many a good and gifted saint are sitting in the pews rotting from a lack of use. Many of the saints are willing to get in the game but simply are not sure how to get started.  JD wades into this predicament and offers practical needed relief and help. His teaching from God‘s word, stories, practical insights, and wisdom are more than enough to be encouraged in this timely piece. His experience for 33-years in the local church makes him an authority on this subject.” —Don Gordon, 27-year full time Missionary and former Major League Baseball player.

JD Pearring’s vast experience includes planting churches, leading growing congregations and assessing potential new church planters. He currently serves as the Director of the Excel Leadership Network, Church Planting Lead for Transformation Ministries, and Teaching Team Coach at Journey Church in Elk Grove, CA.

Leading the Other Way

How to Change the Church Planting World

by JD Pearring

When it comes to church planting, the stakes are high. For too long, we’ve ignored the issues that plague church planting movements and church planters.

Filled with practical, down-to-earth Biblical advice about church planting, leadership, and spiritual health, Leading the Other Way presents a thoroughly Biblical and principle-centered – not program-centered – approach to planting effective churches which focuses on the leader whom God has gifted and called.

If you care deeply about the future of the church, not only new churches, but the church as a whole, JD’s book will encourage you, irritate you in a healthy way, and motivate you to lead for change. With honesty, authority, and intensity, JD coaches leaders of churches, ministries, and denominations to consider the Kingdom over their respective domains, and challenges us to lead for the sake of others.

Rooted in Scripture, JD asks tough questions and provides tangible answers via transferable principles, not prescriptions, as only an experienced practitioner can.
